Connecting and disconnecting drill pipe, moving and manipulating pipes, and ensuring they are properly racked. 6. Floormen assist the driller in various tasks, such as connecting and disconnecting pipe sections, and working as part of the well control team. 7. Keeping the work area clean, tidy, and free from hazards is a crucial part of the job. 8. Maintaining and tracking inventory of equipment and supplies is also a common responsibility. 9. This includes handling drill pipe, casing, and other drilling tools, as well as operating equipment like rig tongs and elevators.
