Primary Responsibilities: 1. Operate Cranes Safely: Control crane movement to lift, move, position, or place loads. Follow signals from ground crew or use operating levers and pedals. 2. Inspect Equipment: Perform daily pre-operational checks and routine maintenance. Identify mechanical issues and report defects to maintenance personnel. 3. Read Load Charts and Plans: Understand weight limits and boom length calculations. Refer to lift plans and ensure crane setup is correct for the load. 4. Follow Safety Procedures: Comply with OSHA and site-specific safety rules. Use proper PPE (helmet, gloves, harness, etc.). Avoid lifting loads over workers. 5. Coordinate with Team: Communicate with riggers, signalers, and supervisors. Use radios or hand signals effectively. 6. Monitor Weather Conditions: Stop operations during unsafe wind or weather conditions. 7. Keep Accurate Records: Log hours of operation, maintenance, and load movements. Report incidents or near-misses. 8. Set Up and Dismantle Crane: Assist in assembling and disassembling crane components if required.
