My responsibilities as Derrickman involve smooth running of mud pumps and all mud processing equipment.  Carry out mud sampling, take weights and viscosity checks and add chemicals as advised by mud engineer.  Maintain all mud pumping and processing areas.  Ensure line ups are correct before pumping drill fluids.  Ensure that the derrick is free from loose items or debris; All tubulars are securely fastened, Working at height at monkey board level running and pulling back tubulars.  Committed to safety and the safe working practices of the crew.  Committed to preventing damage to the environment and must agree to work in accordance with HSE policy and procedures.  Ensure full implementation of STOP system and ensures the crew understands and participates the STOP system.PPE and its correct use with regards to chemical mixing.  Keep the Driller informed as to the consistency of the mud and the general condition of the pumps and mud room.  Monitor, inspect, maintain, repair and report condition and functionality of the mud pumping, storing, processing and transferring equipment on the drilling location. (Including maintaining inventory of spare parts).  To give more importance on General safety and Health program.  Specialized in Work Permit System.  Assist with driller during Slip and Cut job also finished within a particular time.  Ensure air lubricator has required oil.  Conduct mud viscosity and mud weight checks of the drilling mud at the shale shaker as required.  Also good knowledge about Triplex mud pumps.  Ensure care and routine maintenance of all tools and equipment provided for company use.  Ensure proper housekeeping in all responsible areas of the rig and compliance to environmental procedures and regulations.  Ensure clear handovers are communicated to relief personnel within the drilling department.
