Provide strong safety leadership onboard the rig and ensure full compliance with EDC and client HSE requirements.• Implement, maintain, and continuously improve HSE policies, procedures, and management systems.• Ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations; follow up on legal requirements (labor office, civil protection, etc.).• Communicate all HSE system updates, safety alerts, and procedural changes to rig personnel.• Lead the development and implementation of emergency response plans (ERP), including rescue plans, • station bills, and personnel responsibilities.Training, Coaching & Competency Development• Transfer operational and safety experience across rig crews.• Train and coach personnel in equipment operation, emergency response, well control equipment maintenance, and safety best practices.• Coordinate training activities according to the rig training matrix issued by the training center.• Deliver safety inductions and conduct ongoing safety education sessions and campaigns.Risk Management & Incident Prevention• Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, Safe Job Analysis (SJA), Management of Change (MOC), and deviation permits.• Perform daily tours, monitor ongoing operations, and ensure proper safety precautions are implemented.• Spot-check job sites to verify compliance with work permits, documentation, and safety measures.• Promote Stop Work Authority and encourage a proactive safety culture across the rig.Inspection, Auditing & Equipment Integrity• Conduct routine inspections of rig areas, accommodations, hygiene conditions, and safety-critical equipment.• Ensure emergency response, well control, and lifting equipment are maintained and certified.• Maintain updated registers and tracking sheets (lifting gear, corrective actions, SOS, incidents, audits, inspections).• Identify non-compliance issues and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented.Incident Investigation & Reporting• Participate in accident/incident investigations using methodologies such as TapRoot.• Analyze incident data to identify trends and recommend preventive measures.• Prepare reports, follow up corrective actions, and ensure lessons learned are communicated to all personnel.Operational Support & Communication• Maintain high-level communication with rig leadership (OIM, Rig Foreman) to support safe operations.• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at operational excellence and customer expectations.• Ensure all rig certifications and licenses are current and arrange timely renewals.
