Currently I am working in UAE as a Safety Engineer An HSE Engineer at a rig site acts as a safety guardian, ensuring safe drilling and production operations, protecting people and the environment, and maintaining full regulatory and client compliance. 1. Health & Safety Management Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and standards at the rig site. Conduct risk assessments, JSA/JHA, HAZID/HAZOP for rig activities. Monitor compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems. Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices. 2. Operational Safety Inspect rig equipment, lifting operations, confined spaces, and hot work activities. Monitor high-risk operations such as drilling, well control, crane operations, and work at height. Participate in pre-job safety meetings (Toolbox Talks). 3. Incident Management Report, investigate, and analyze accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts. Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Track HSE performance indicators (TRIR, LTIF, near-miss reports). 4. Training & Awareness Conduct HSE inductions for new crew and visitors. Deliver safety training, drills, and emergency response exercises. Promote safety culture and behavioral safety programs. 5. Environmental Protection Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste management procedures. Monitor spill prevention, chemical handling, and pollution control measures. Report and manage environmental incidents. 6. Emergency Response Support and coordinate emergency response plans (fire, blowout, evacuation, spill). Participate in drills and ensure emergency equipment readiness. 7. Audits & Compliance Perform internal HSE inspections and audits. Liaise with client representatives, regulators, and third-party auditors. Maintain HSE documentation, records, and reports.
