Familiarize with the safety regulations and procedures on the rig floor Assist in setting up and taking down drilling equipment Operate drilling equipment such as tongs, elevators, and slips Monitor and maintain the mud system Assist in the inspection and maintenance of drilling equipment Assist in the preparation of drilling fluids Assist in the training of new floorhands Perform other duties as assigned by the drilling supervisor or rig manager Ability to work long hours in physically demanding conditions Experience in operating and maintaining drilling equipment Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in the oil and gas industry Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues Familiarity with basic hand and power tools used in drilling operations Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and execute tasks efficiently
