Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. One of the main roles of a Safety Officer is to identify potential hazards in the workplace through regular inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits. Based on these assessments, the Safety Officer develops, implements, and enforces safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work in line with local laws and international safety standards. The Safety Officer also plays a key role in training and educating employees. This includes conducting safety inductions, toolbox talks, and specialized training on topics such as fire safety, emergency response, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe operation of machinery. The Safety Officer investigates accidents, incidents, and near-miss events to identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
