Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate QHSE activities across six (6) drilling and workover rigs, ensuring full compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable industry regulations. Act as the central coordination and communication link between rig-based HSE officers and senior management to ensure alignment on safety objectives and performance expectations. Monitor and review daily HSE reports from all rig sites, analyze trends, identify gaps, and provide guidance on immediate and preventive corrective actions to prevent incidents. Maintain the Corrective Action Register for all non-compliance items arising from meetings, audits, and inspections, ensuring timely close-out. Develop, review, and update QHSE policies, procedures, and operational plans in line with company objectives, legal requirements, and client expectations. Maintain and control all QHSE documentation, including HSE manuals, Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), risk assessments, method statements, Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, and incident investigation reports. Supervise, mentor, and provide technical support to rig-based HSE Engineers to enhance competency and overall HSE performance. Conduct pre-job safety meetings, toolbox talks, and weekly and monthly HSE meetings across rig operations. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports, and participate in meetings with internal and external HSE professionals to review findings and performance. Conduct regular meetings with client representatives to resolve safety issues and ensure full compliance with contractual and HSE requirements. Review and analyze STOP cards, near-miss reports, and safety observations to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure effective control measures are implemented. Track and analyze QHSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all rigs, conducting internal and external benchmarking to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in virtual and onsite QHSE audits, inspections, and management reviews. Execute, review, and monitor QHSE inspections for rigs and camp facilities. Inspect lifesaving and emergency equipment, heavy equipment, and lifting operations in accordance with international safety standards. Monitor compliance with the Travel and Journey Management System. Plan and conduct emergency drills (Fire, H₂S, Well Kick, and Medevac) to evaluate emergency preparedness and response effectiveness.
