Roles and Responsibilities
1. Overall Operations Management • Oversee and manage all workover rig operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution. • Ensure operations are carried out in accordance with the approved work program, company policies, and industry best practices. • Coordinate daily activities between rig crews, service companies, and client representatives. 2. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) • Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all personnel follow safe work practices. • Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and audits. • Ensure proper implementation of permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and Job Safety Analyses (JSA). • Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions. 3. Personnel Supervision and Leadership • Supervise rig supervisors, toolpushers, drillers, and crew members. • Ensure adequate staffing levels and competency of personnel. • Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and on-the-job training. • Enforce discipline and professional conduct on the rig site. 4. Equipment and Maintenance Oversight • Ensure all rig equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and certified. • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities. • Verify readiness of critical equipment such as BOPs, hoisting systems, power generation, and well control equipment. • Ensure compliance with load limits and operational capacities. 5. Operational Planning and Execution • Review and approve workover programs, procedures, and operational plans. • Monitor daily progress and optimize operations to reduce non-productive time (NPT). • Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of rigs and equipment. • Ensure availability of materials, tools, and third-party services. 6. Well Control and Technical Assurance • Ensure well control practices meet company and regulatory standards. • Verify well control equipment testing, pressure testing, and certification. • Provide technical guidance during critical operations and emergencies. • Ensure crew competency in well control and emergency response. 7. Cost Control and Reporting • Monitor operational costs and ensure work is completed within budget. • Review daily drilling/workover reports and operational logs. • Report operational performance, HSE statistics, and incidents to management. • Support preparation of operational and end-of-job reports.
