Roles and Responsibilities
• To inspect and inventoried the medical equipment according to defined intervals. • To provide a monthly report to the Captain and QHSSE Department onshore on the medical activity and the inventories of the clinic, the hygiene inspections of the galley and the storerooms, and trainings performed on board. • To provide training within his/her competency on a variety of QHSSE topics, including First Aid, Health & hygiene, Fitness, Stepping Handling & Lifting, and other modules of the BGPO QHSSE minimum training. • To provide fitness testing and evaluation, and to assist crew members by advising on individualized fitness programs. • To actively promote healthy living by making presentations on such issues as diet, smoking etc. • To assist Vessel Management with the administration of QHSSE. This may include such things as record keeping, analysis of statistics, inspections & checklist etc. • To be able to take samples for Drug & Alcohol testing using approved 'chain of custody' methods, either as part of the company periodic random testing program or post-incident testing. • To ensure that all Personal Medical Records are retained and kept strictly confidential accessible by the Captain and BGPO doctors only. • Able to perform Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) • Review MCU result and Fitness for Work, monitor and evaluate Health Fitness condition • Produce and /or follow basic procedures associated with project specific disaster planning • Provide and co-ordinate medical evacuation and ‘topside’ support (shore support) • Execute the HSE responsibilities as defined in the Business Management System manuals & procedures. • To organize and provide a medical treatment to crew members, passengers and other persons onboard the vessel. • Report to the Captain about discharge of crew members from their duties or necessary of onshore medical treatment. • The doctor/paramedic is to confer with the captain regarding all illness and injuries to ensure that the proper medical treatment is given and that no symptoms are overlooked or misinterpreted. • Hygienic supervision of all health food preparation, quality of provision and drinking water, including the serving and presentation of the food in the mess room and in the stores. • Hygienic supervision of all the living accommodation and recreational facilities, taking steps to eliminate defects found in their sanitary condition. • Take part in the menu composition and supervision • Conduct briefings with the catering crew regarding sanitary requirements and food handling training. • Conduct medical examinations of all catering crew members once per month. • Conduct the weekly routine hygienic inspections together with the Master, HSE Advisor. • Conduct Alcohol and Drug tests as required. • Maintenance of the vessel’s first aid kits and eye washing stations. • Report to the captain of all deficiencies of the medical facilities of the
