Roles and Responsibilities
The Construction Manager in an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project plays a critical role in ensuring successful project execution from site mobilization to final handover. The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all on-site construction activities in accordance with the approved drawings, technical specifications, project schedule, quality standards, and safety regulations. Key responsibilities include managing construction schedules and ensuring timely completion of milestones by effectively coordinating with engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and site teams. The Construction Manager oversees manpower deployment, construction equipment, and materials to optimize productivity and control costs. He ensures that all construction activities comply with contract requirements, applicable codes, and statutory regulations. The Construction Manager is accountable for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices at site, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring zero-accident work culture. He also ensures strict quality control by coordinating inspections, tests, and approvals in line with the project quality plan.

Leadership and team management skills are vital, as the role involves supervising site engineers, subcontractors, and skilled labor. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities are required to manage site challenges.
