Policy & Compliance Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., OSHA/HSE guidelines). Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA/JSA). Recommend and monitor control measures to eliminate or reduce risks. Review method statements and permit-to-work systems. Inspections & Audits Carry out regular workplace inspections and safety audits. Identify unsafe acts/conditions and ensure corrective actions are closed out. Training & Awareness Organize safety inductions, toolbox talks, and specialized safety training. Promote safety awareness and a positive safety culture among workers. Incident Management Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe occurrences. Prepare incident reports and implement corrective and preventive actions. Emergency Preparedness Develop emergency response plans (fire, medical, spill, evacuation). Coordinate and conduct emergency drills. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Ensure appropriate PPE is selected, provided, and correctly used. Monitor PPE condition and compliance. Monitoring & Reporting Track safety performance (KPIs, statistics). Maintain safety records and submit reports to management and regulators. Contractor & Site Safety Ensure contractors comply with site safety rules. Participate in pre-job meetings and monitor high-risk activities. Health Surveillance & Welfare Support occupational health programs (medical checks, exposure monitoring). Promote worker welfare and wellbeing initiatives.
