As a Health and Safety Engineer in the oil and gas drilling sector, I am responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving HSE practices on onshore drilling rigs. My core duties include conducting regular HSE inspections, identifying workplace hazards, and carrying out detailed risk assessments to ensure risks are reduced to as low as reasonably practicable. I actively participate in job safety analyses (JSA), toolbox talks, and safety meetings to promote safe working practices among all personnel on site. I lead and support accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, ensuring proper root cause analysis is performed and corrective actions are identified, implemented, and tracked to closure. I also monitor contractor HSE performance to ensure full compliance with company policies, national regulations, and international standards. Another key responsibility is ensuring compliance with HSE management systems, including permit-to-work systems, emergency response plans, and safety procedures related to drilling operations. I support emergency preparedness by participating in drills and coordinating with site management during emergency situations. In addition, I prepare HSE reports, safety alerts, and performance indicators for management review, and I actively contribute to developing a strong safety culture by encouraging workforce engagement, reporting of unsafe acts, and continuous improvement across all operations.

ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor (IRCA). Strong skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, audits, and contractor HSE management. Good knowledge of oil and gas drilling operations and international HSE standards.
