Drilling Fluid (Mud) Management: Monitors and maintains drilling mud properties (density, pH, viscosity), adds chemicals, and ensures proper circulation for cooling and removing cuttings. Equipment Maintenance: Inspects and maintains mud pumps, shale shakers, degassers, and other related equipment. Rig Support: Assists the Driller, performs rigging up/down, and helps with general rig safety and cleanliness. Work Environment & Requirements Location: Works on a platform high up in the derrick (monkey board), significantly above the rig floor. Physical Demands: High physical stamina, balance, and strength are essential due to working at heights and handling heavy pipes. Safety Focus: Strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies is critical. Supervision: Reports to the Driller or Toolpusher, receiving detailed instructions. Schedule: Involves long, irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
