As an HSE Officer, I am responsible for implementing and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management systems in line with NEBOSH IGC requirements, international best practices, and applicable legal obligations within construction and oil & gas environments. My role focuses on controlling high-risk activities and ensuring safe execution of operations. I conduct comprehensive hazard identification and risk assessments, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Task Risk Assessments (TRA), and Permit to Work (PTW) reviews for high-risk activities such as hot works, confined space entry, lifting operations, and work at height. I apply the hierarchy of controls to eliminate or reduce risks and ensure effective control measures are implemented. I monitor site activities through regular inspections, audits, and safety observations to verify compliance with approved HSE plans, method statements, and safety procedures. I actively follow up on corrective and preventive actions and support incident, near-miss, and unsafe condition investigations using root cause analysis techniques. In addition, I deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to enhance workforce competence and safety awareness. I support emergency preparedness and response planning, including fire safety systems, spill response, and evacuation drills. Through strong safety leadership and effective communication, I contribute to achieving high HSE performance and compliance across all construction and oil & gas operations.
