Currently I am a Ward Manager (Adult Acute Inpatient). Overall responsibility for ward management and leadership. Formulation of Policy and Procedures. Oversee the Health and Safety of ward and sit on governance meetings. Vetting and hiring new ward staff. Collaborative working with all stakeholders. Providing overall support for staff. Supervision/appraisals. Promote and deliver a high standard of patient care. Coordinate assessments of patients with complexed needs. Attend governance/managers meetings to discuss service improvements and delivery. Manage complaints/compliments from patients/relatives. Oversee audits (medication, handwashing, uniform, documentation, mandatory training). To support the shift at all times and step in if staffing challenges. Advocate for patients. Provide internal/external training/updates about ward role and function.
