A. Operations Management Supervise day-to-day drilling activities (drilling, tripping, casing, cementing, testing). Ensure operations follow the approved drilling program. Optimize rate of penetration (ROP) and reduce non-productive time (NPT). Coordinate with: Drilling contractor Mud engineer Directional drilling team Logging & cementing services B. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Enforce company HSE policies and local regulations. Conduct and monitor: Toolbox talks Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Permit to Work (PTW) Ensure compliance with well control procedures. Stop operations if unsafe conditions are identified. Lead incident reporting and investigations. 📌 Safety authority is non-negotiable and overrides cost or schedule. C. Well Control & Technical Oversight Ensure well integrity at all times. Monitor: Mud properties Pit volume Flow rates and pressures Verify BOP tests and well control equipment readiness. Act as well control decision authority on site. D. Cost & Time Control Monitor daily drilling costs. Prevent unnecessary expenditures. Approve: Materials usage Extra services Standby time justifications Report cost overruns with explanations. E. Reporting & Documentation Prepare Daily Drilling Reports (DDR). Report: Progress NPT Equipment failures Safety incidents Maintain accurate records of operations and lessons learned. F. Contractor & Personnel Management Supervise drilling contractor performance. Ensure contractors comply with: Contract terms Safety standards Technical requirements Coordinate crew changes and logistics. G. Communication & Coordination Act as the main communication link between: Rig site Office drilling engineers Management Participate in operational and safety meetings. Escalate risks and technical concerns promptly.
