Roles and Responsibilities
As part of my role, I am responsible for coordinating, supervising, and reporting all operational, administrative, and safety-related activities on the rig while acting as the main interface between field operations and the Cairo office. I actively participate in all pre-spud, pre-job, pre-tour, safety, and pre-move meetings, where I consolidate operational requirements related to equipment, logistics, and manpower. I document meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure timely distribution to relevant stakeholders. A daily rig activity log is maintained and reported to the Cairo office, along with exception and deviation reports for any operational non-conformances. I facilitate clear and continuous communication between rig leadership and office management to support informed decision-making. During drilling and workover operations, I verify that approved programs are fully compatible with rig capabilities prior to spud. I continuously monitor critical drilling parameters such as weight on bit, RPM, circulation rates, bottom-hole pressure, and mud properties to ensure safe and efficient execution. Rig limitations, including hook load, pump pressure, and torque, are strictly monitored to prevent equipment overloading. I coordinate closely with the Senior Toolpusher and Drilling Superintendent to address deviations, implement corrective actions, and ensure all operations are logged accurately in real-time reporting systems. Technical and administrative summaries are prepared for office review and performance evaluation. For rig move operations, I conduct access and road surveys, verify location layouts against the rig footprint, and ensure all permits, approvals, and notifications are secured prior to mobilization. I coordinate with logistics and HSE teams to ensure safe rig moves and document compliance through checklists and load-out manifests, issuing completion reports upon move finalization. Administratively, I ensure all licenses, permits, certifications, and regulatory approvals remain valid. I maintain structured document control systems, oversee material documentation, manage crew change schedules, and archive end-of-well and HSE records for audit readiness. Safety and compliance remain a core responsibility. I ensure permits to work, JSAs, and risk assessments are completed, support safety meetings and drills, document incidents and near-misses, and maintain compliance trackers to uphold company and client HSE standards.
