Conducted regular position fixing using visual bearings, radar ranges, GPS and ECDIS cross-checks to ensure navigational safety. Assisted the Chief Officer and Master with voyage planning, passage execution and route monitoring, including preparation of navigational charts, publications, and bridge documentation. Actively participated in bridge team management, maintaining effective communication with the Master, pilot, engine room and deck crew during navigation, port approaches, and restricted waters. Took part in cargo operations, including monitoring loading and discharging procedures, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, pollution prevention measures, and company procedures. Assisted with tanker operations where applicable, following ISGOTT guidelines and vessel-specific cargo manuals. Responsible for the maintenance and testing of navigational and safety equipment such as radar, gyro and magnetic compasses, ECDIS, AIS, echo sounder, GMDSS equipment, and bridge alarms. Conducted routine safety rounds, inspections, and reported deficiencies when identified. Participated in emergency drills, safety meetings, and onboard training in accordance with international regulations and company policies. Ensured proper record keeping, including logbooks, checklists, and reports. Maintained a high level of situational awareness, safety culture, and professionalism during all operations on board.
