As a Rigger, I am responsible for safely preparing, attaching, and guiding loads for lifting and moving operations in accordance with approved lift plans and site safety standards. My core duties include inspecting slings, shackles, chains, hooks, and other rigging hardware before and after each use to ensure all equipment is in safe working condition. I determine load weight, identify the center of gravity, and select the appropriate rigging configuration to maintain stability throughout the lift. I securely attach loads to cranes or hoisting equipment and communicate clearly with crane operators using standard hand signals or radio communication to coordinate smooth and controlled movements. During lifting operations, I monitor load balance, control tag lines to prevent swinging or rotation, and ensure the surrounding area remains clear of hazards. I follow all safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and immediately report unsafe conditions or defective equipment. Additionally, I assist with positioning and placing loads accurately to meet project requirements while minimizing risk to personnel, equipment, and materials. My role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and a constant commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
